Scientific and technical references

These sources explain the methods and data concepts used in the documentation. They are not a publication or validation record for hyperproc itself.

Imaging spectroscopy and ecosystems

Atmospheric retrieval

  • ISOFIT documentation: inversion framework, installation, models, and upstream references. hyperproc orchestrates this framework rather than replacing it.
  • Thompson et al. (2018), Optimal estimation for imaging spectrometer atmospheric correction, Remote Sensing of Environment, 216, 355–373. Publisher record / DOI: 10.1016/j.rse.2018.07.003.

Directional reflectance

  • Queally et al. (2022), FlexBRDF: A Flexible BRDF Correction for Grouped Processing of Airborne Imaging Spectroscopy Flightlines. DOI: 10.1029/2021JG006622.
  • NASA MCD43A1 Version 6.1 dataset description: BRDF/albedo model-parameter product, temporal support, and spatial scale.
  • Roy et al. (2016), c-factor normalization: cited in hyperproc.correct.cfactor. Full bibliographic record awaiting verification; no unverified DOI is supplied here.

Topographic and spectral methods

The implementation docstrings identify Teillet, Guindon & Goodenough (1982), Gu & Gillespie (1998), and Soenen, Peddle & Coburn (2005) as the foundations of cosine/C/SCS/SCS+C corrections. A complete, verified bibliography is under construction. The spectral-index registry also carries per-index references; these are source metadata, not a completed citation audit.

The spline implementation documents a port of R's smoothing-spline behavior. tests/test_smoothing_r.py compares against retained R-reference fixtures under tests/data/r_reference/. Consult the test guide and the actual test results when reporting numerical equivalence; these comparisons do not establish full scientific validity of gap filling.

Citing hyperproc

The checkout supplies an MIT license, repository URL, maintainer details, and CITATION.cff for hyperproc 0.1.2 (declared release date 2026-10-03). Use the citation guide. No DOI is declared; a remote release archive or package-index publication is not verified by the local build. Cite upstream algorithms separately from the hyperproc software citation.
